Shop Fabricator – TIG Welder

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Shop Fabricator with TIG Welding expertise to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components using TIG welding , reading blueprints, and ensuring high-precision welds. This position requires experience with stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals , along with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • TIG Welding & Fabrication: Perform precision TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals, ensuring clean, high-quality welds .
  • Blueprint & Specification Reading: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to fabricate parts to exact specifications.
  • Metal Cutting & Forming: Operate shears, press brakes, grinders, saws, and other metal fabrication tools to shape and prepare materials.
  • Assembly & Fit-up: Properly fit, align, and tack-weld components before final welding to ensure accurate assembly .
  • Quality Control & Inspection: Inspect welds and finished products using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Machine & Tool Maintenance: Maintain welding equipment, fabrication tools, and workstations in good condition, performing basic troubleshooting as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all OSHA safety standards, PPE requirements, and welding safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a TIG welder and fabricator in a manufacturing or job shop environment.
  • Materials Knowledge: Strong experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel .
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in TIG welding (GTAW), metal fabrication, and blueprint reading .
  • Welding Certifications: AWS certification in TIG welding is a plus.
  • Tools & Equipment: Experience using press brakes, shears, grinders, and other metal fabrication equipment .
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot fabrication and welding issues and adjust techniques for optimal results.
