Ascend is a multidisciplinary, passion-driven, and therapist-owned organization that provides Speech, Occupational, and Physical therapy to infants and children to help them thrive. We serve children in 3 settings: Schools, Outpatient Clinics, and Home-Based Early Intervention.

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Healthcare Recruiter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring top-tier talent (e.g., Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) and Occupational Therapists (OT)) to meet our organization's growing needs.


As a Recruiter on our Schools Team, you will manage the full-cycle recruitment process for school-based clinicians across California. You'll play a critical role in building strong candidate relationships, and ensuring our clinicians feel supported from first contact through placement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for school-based roles (OTs, COTAs, SLPs, SLPAs, etc.) by screening appropriate candidates and scheduling with hiring managers for interviews
  • Source candidates through job boards such as LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and ZipRecruiter, social media groups and forums, referrals, and creative outreach strategies
  • Conduct initial screenings and interviews to assess clinical fit, preferences, and availability
  • Collaborate closely with the Schools Operations team to align staffing needs
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the ATS and CRM
  • Strategize, plan, and execute career fair initiatives, including representing Ascend at in-person and virtual events to attract top talent
  • Build and nurture long-term candidate relationships-not just transactional placements
  • Support candidates through offer, credentialing, and onboarding processes
  • Stay informed on school staffing trends, timelines, and district needs
  • Support special recruiting initiatives, including maintaining accurate data in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), assisting with external recruiting efforts such as social media campaigns and job fairs, and managing employer branding efforts including Glassdoor reviews
What are we looking for?
  • 1-2 years experience in a recruiting, talent acquisition, or related role. School-based staffing preferred but not required
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across multiple channels
  • Experience managing, analyzing, and presenting data in accessible ways and familiarity with the Google suite of products
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume recruiting environment
  • Experience with JazzHR/monday.com preferred but not necessary, , experienced in operating Indeed, Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter, Handshake, and other job boards is a plus
  • Passion to learn more about therapists and schools' needs, for supporting clinicians and making an impact in school communities

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
