Barista (Full-Time)

Prequel Cafe is a growing, quality-driven cafe built by career baristas who care deeply about craft, hospitality, and consistency. We’re a small, tight-knit team that values good systems, clear communication, and showing up for each other.
We’re looking for an experienced Barista who takes pride in their work, moves well at pace, and understands that great service is equal parts technical skill and awareness of the room.
What You’ll Do
Prepare espresso-based drinks, batch brew, pour-over, and tea to standard
Dial in espresso, weigh shots, steam milk properly, and pour clean latte art
Open and/or close the cafe following established procedures
Engage guests with calm, genuine hospitality
Maintain a clean, organized bar and shared workspaces
Communicate clearly with teammates and management across shifts
Process transactions accurately
Assist with restocking and light inventory tasks
Follow health and safety standards at all times
What We’re Looking For
Prior barista experience required
Comfortable dialing in, adjusting recipes, and working without shortcuts
Strong communication skills and punctuality
Open availability, including weekends
Team-oriented, adaptable, and steady under pressure
Understands the rhythm of cafe service and the role each person plays
Interested in growing with a shop long-term, not just filling shifts
